Finally tried a Popafella vegan popsicle.  This place is near work.  Great taste but $4 is too much!  This one was cucumber mint.

This watermelon drink is from Vietnam.  The non sparkling one was excellent.

August 2017 local items

another watermelon failure. It tasted like apple juice.

Chocolove - ok but the loaf is small and the slices are thick.  The chips taste like BBQ.

Palak paneer in the instant pot.

More new Oasis drinks.  These ones taste like drinking diluted herbal tea.

Lower layer: tuna, egg and olive tapenade sandwiches (OK) and a pointless shotglass of lukewarm green pea/dill soup.

Second tier: two savory (onion) scones with onion jam. WTF.

Top layer: slightly stale desserts and....

this is literally one of the worst things I have ever tried to eat.  It is charcoal panna cotta.  Tastes like sugar and is very gritty and inky black.  After eating here, Joanne and I felt sick. I wasn't even sure if I could drive.  It was that bad.

These eclairs from FoodBasics were kind of tasteless

In other food news, here is the Kanata location of Mandarin Buffet Chinese restaurant under construction in the food basics parking lot at Kanata Town Centre.

Now that summer is here I have noticed four new watermelon flavoured products in the grocery stores.

Tropicana Watermelon drink: it is delicious and actually does taste like watermelon (uhh and sugar).  I will try the lemonades too eventually.

President's Choice Watermelon Crunch ice cream.  Sugary and gross. Does not taste like watermelon. The "crunch" is granola. Uggh.

Friendly's watermelon fruit bars/popsicles.  Friggin disgusting.  Tastes nothing like watermelon.  I had to let them melt in the laundry sink.  Got these in Ogdensburg.

Nestle FruPops watermelon popsicles. Very gross.  Tastes NOTHING like watermelon whatsoever!  I brought them to work.

This AriZona Watermelon Fruit Juice Cocktail tastes nothing like watermelon. It tastes like fruit punch.  Thumbs down.

I got my mom to try this Sunrise Watermelon flavour Tofu Dessert.  She said, "Never buy this again!"

I got these in Potsdam, NY.  Undrinkably sugary and fake.  I brought 3 to work because I couldn't finish them.

Making homemade vegetable soup only took 15 min.  Throw anything in there!

Manchester tarts I made in 2011.  I wanted to make some ever since Gail threw one in Deirdre's face on Coronation St. It is made of raspberry jam, banana (optional), custard, coconut and it's supposed to have a maraschino cherry on top

FUN da-middles.
Just doesn't taste right without the Hostess cupcake chocolate icing on top. Also the white goop is kind of runny and not fluffy
