July 2016 Ogdensburg Oddities (and Watertown, NY)

Devour chicken & waffles - I have low expectations for this one.  Looks gross.  Looks like a new line of products, most of which contained bacon

Finally tried Cold Stone creamery in Watertown.. no big whoop.  The chocolate was not chocolate enough.

Watertown now has a Sonic.  I tried the fried egg sandwich. It was the saltiest thing I have ever eaten.  I only ate half and threw half  out the car window at the walmart parking lot for the crows to eat.  Not real eggs - some kind of liquid egg type mix with seasoning or MSG or something in it.  The strawberry limeade was OK though.

it's that time of year when we can buy local strawberries.

new flavours of Oikos yogurt: Mandarin orange and raspberry chocolate

Chia Pod: this is like bitter chocolate pudding made of chia seeds. Pretty disgusting and extremely high price.  WTRMLN WTR is even worse. I love watermelons.  This is like drinking the sour rind of a watermelon. I had to pour it down the sink although the price was $5 for a puny bottle.

Ducales, Taste the magic.  Crackers from Colombia.  Coworkers seemed to like them.

The famous Crystal Pepsi is back temporarily.  All of us thought it was blah.

They didn't taste much like ham!

A delicious breakfast, except for the disgusting bacon on the sandwich.  My coworkers liked the Mars maple but didn't like the rockin' nut road snickers.

Arz long sesame rusks - you can really taste the mahlab, whatever it is.

Kettle Classic Caesar chips.  Will they taste like tomato, hot sauce, lime and celery.. or vodka?  I brought them to work.  They tasted like V8 vegetable juice.

This is a packet of flower tea.  Sisley ordered many of these for her wedding favours.

New drinks found in Mac's Milk  Brisk bluebeberry/lemonade/iced tea, cherry/limeade/iced tea and wild cherry pepsi (it's about time)

Also from  Mac's Milk.  There is nothing Mentos about these, other than the packaging. They are caramels with chocolate and chocolate mint filling.

Ling and I went to Quitters coffee house.  Here is a fancy coffee, lemonade, chewy chocolate brownie type cookie, and croissant.  We liked our drinks and the cookie.  I didn't try the croissant.

This is the Quitters tuna melt sandwich.  It was a tiny bit spicy but it was good.

Sour cream & sriracha.. it wasn't hot at all.

An extremely disappointing visit to Big Easy's Steak and Seafood restaurant. Look how puny this fried chicken is.  The so called mashed sweet potatoes was like only 3/4 cup in volume.  The season vegetables were literally 10 baby spinach leaves and 1/2 a brussels sprout.  This half size portion was $26!

Here is the dessert, a flourless chocolate cake which 3 of us tasted and found inedible due to a raw, mealy texture.

I got these rolls at Giant Tiger. They taste worse than they used to in the good old days.

May 2016 Ogdensburg oddities

Caramel Creams, Roar Patriot Punch, and Watermelon Pop-tarts.

Mountain Dew Baja Blast and Pitch Black, Strawberry Shortcake Oreo.  I will  bring these to work.

Wise Loaded Chili Cheese Dog and Grilled Cheeseburger chips. I will bring them to work.

Cotton Candy flavoured Roar.

May 2016 local items

I found this at foodbasics. It didn't taste like roses much at all. More like cardamom.

I ate 2.  Too spicy. Not as crunchy as the TGIFridays type.

I brought this one to work to compare with the oreo thins.  Thumbs way down!

Ox Head 2 opened up. About the same as the original Ox Head.

uncooked fish tacos from Hurley's. My fork couldn't flake off 90% of the fish so I ate around the edges.

Thai Express.  This stir fry was disgusting and oily and slightly sweet.

This is what Tim had at Thai Express.. Bean sprouts with chicken. Remarkably, he gave it a 7/10.

Dole Mixations and Fruit 'n Pudding.  These were both disgusting. Do not buy.

new soft drinks.  1893 Ginger Pepsi: DISGUSTINGLY STRONG FLAVOUR.  Did not try the others yet.

Little Muffins Blueberry.  OK but tiny and way overpackaged.
